Introduction to the Locked In Preps Report

Welcome, everyone, to the official launch of the Locked In Preps Report, where we focus on bringing additional recruiting eyes to the talent-rich state of Nebraska. Over the past five years, I have worked in Nebraska’s prep football scene during a time that saw tremendous talent coming out of programs from Omaha out to the Panhandle. Looking back at the past five years, one big thing has been very clear: this is not by accident. Local athletic trainers, developmental coaches, a rising 7v7 scene, and several other factors have played into why we are seeing more players garner national and high-level attention on the recruiting trail.

The Goal: My goal with starting Locked In Preps Report is to use the skills I’ve developed as a scout and the relationships built with coaching staffs to help continue building Nebraska into a state that is looked at heavily for football recruiting. I have spent time at college camps, showcases, 7v7s, team practices, etc., which have helped me uncover hidden-gem prospects and deepen my knowledge of the game from coaches doing it at the highest level. Locked In Preps Report is not here to focus solely on the “top” guys or only the D1 players— we want to shine a light on players with collegiate potential at any and all levels.

What To Expect: At Locked In Preps Report, you can expect to see statewide coverage of prospects from all classifications and grades. One of the main things you’ll see on our site is our FREE “Class Rankings,” which serves as our recruiting big board. The rankings page will also include a “Specialists Corner,” highlighting the top specialists in that class, and an “On The Rise” list of prospects who are on the verge of breaking out or players we don’t have enough film on. These lists are not set in stone and will remain very fluid throughout the season, so there is always room to move up on the board. Player evaluations are also going to be one of the main things you see on our site. As I mentioned, in the past five seasons I’ve learned a thing or two about evaluating talent, so I will use resources like Hudl film, posts on X, 7v7/camp/showcase performances, performances in other sports, and anything else available to provide accurate and in-depth analysis. During the season, you can also expect to see team rankings, weekly top performers, in-season breakout stars, the release of our freshman list, and postseason awards. Along with all this, I will also be doing some lighter articles because, at the end of the day, this is a game meant to be fun.
